Teen sex comedies are a dime a dozen, to the point that the trappings of the genre tend to overwhelm the truth of adolescent horniness. In such films, uninhibited raunch is the embarrassed means that must lead, unequivocally and apologetically, to monogamous ends (how quintessentially American to have your cake and eat it too, then to backtrack on your extensive trail of bad-behavioral pastry droppings and say that you knew better all along). In toto, Sex Drive is no different in its expectedly hypocritical moral outlook, but there’s still genuine artistry on display, a deadpan feel for the absurd that suggests, in the film’s best moments, a live-action rendering of the Jerry Scott/Jim Borgman comic Zits.

9. Hold hands.

10. On your yearly romantic checklist, make plans for Valentine’s Day — well in advance!
